PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new host cell comprising a cell capable of expressing a human lymphocyte-related cell surface protein LAM-1 having a specific amino acid sequence and useful for the production, etc. of the subject protein capable of improving symptoms due to invasion of lymphocytes into a tissue damaged site, etc. SOLUTION: This surface protein is a new host cell capable of expressing a human lymphocyte-related cell surface protein LAM-1 having an amino acid sequence represented by the formula, with the proviso that one or plural amino acids in the sequence may be substituted, deleted or added so as not to change the bioactivity of the protein and is used for the production, etc. of the LAM-1 useful as a medicinal agent, etc. capable of preventing the evolution of lesions and symptoms due to the migration and invasion of lymphocytes into a tissue damaged site, a taumatic site a tissue transplanted site. The host cell is obtained by transfecting a host cell with an expression system containing a gene capable of encoding the LAM-1 separated from a cDNA population unique to a B cell derived from a human tonsil cDNA library. |
