PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optimum print process at all times by detecting a state of a print face of a recording sheet while the sheet is supplied and, providing an appropriate print correction in accordance with a degree of deterioration of the photoprint paper. SOLUTION: According to the method, a read sensor 36 for reading a state of a print paper 50 is arranged to a paper transfer path of a TA printer. Although the TA paper is pale yellow when unused, a photosensitive part changes to white when the part is exposed by being left for a long time or the like. An output of the sensor becomes a large value for the photosensitive part. The sensor output is monitored from a leading end of the paper while the paper is supplied, and a size of the photosensitive part (deteriorated area) 50C of the paper is grasped. Lines to be corrected in photoprint density are calculated from the detected size of the photosensitive part and a size value of an effective photoprint area of the paper. At the same time, a position where bleaching (fixing) for obtaining a margin can be simplified is calculated. A photoprint density of the deteriorated area is automatically adjusted to an optimum value and a speed for fixing end parts of the paper is controlled. |
