PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a transmission mechanism for connecting a mechanism for performing a cycle drive to a drive motor by rotatably arranging a drive shaft on the base part of a bed body, and fixing a drive motor for rotating this drive shaft to the base part. SOLUTION: A drive shaft 19 for driving a sewing machine is arranged on the front half adjacent to a bed part 3 of the base part 2 of a sewing machine bed body 1, extending through in the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the bed part 3, and both ends thereof are protruded from both sides of the base part 2. A cylindrical motor liner 5 constituting a drive motor 4 is arranged on one end side of the drive shaft 19, and an encoder 10 for controlling the rotation of the drive motor 4 is mounted on the other end of the drive shaft 19. An eccentric cam is provided in the part arranged within the base part 2 of the drive shaft 19, so that the mechanism of each part of the sewing machine is driven through a crank rod by its rotation. Further, motors 11, 12 for driving a feed bar 13 are arranged on the base part 2.
