PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chemical for stabilizing the ground having a small shrinkage of a gel material after gelation, good in development of strength just after the gelation, without deteriorating the strength for a long period, having durability and without producing a gel such as a collapsed bean curd or a sherbetlike gel, the so-called nonuniform gel after preparing the chemical and to provide a ground stabilizing method of construction. SOLUTION: This ground stabilizing chemical is obtained by combining an alkali silicate liquid with a gelling agent. The alkali silicate liquid has 5-10 nm particle diameter of colloidal silica in 30-80 molar ratio of SiO2/Na2O and has 5-23 wt.% content of SiO2. The gelling agent comprises (a) an alkali hydrogensulfate and a monoalkali phosphate, etc., in an amount of 0.65-6.6 wt.% based on the SiO2 and (b) magnesium sulfate, aluminum sulfate, potassium alum, aluminum acetate, etc., in an amount of 2.5-82 wt.% based on the SiO2. |
