SUBSTANCE: rack-stitch fabric is based on double-knit high-index press weaving with incomplete number of loops on each side across the width of pattern and has, on one side, at least two groups of stitch rows which are positioned in at least two omitted stitch rows with press stitches having index of at least 2, in a row, and has, on other side, groups of stitches with rows of plain rib knitting. By offsetting for at least one needle stroke in each pattern repeat through height upon knitting of at least two rows in opposite directions, two rows oriented in offsetting direction and producing wavy large-relief and openwork effect are formed on side containing plain rib rows.
