PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain rhythm playing by many kinds of rhythm sound with less channels in a rhythm playing device. SOLUTION: A tone generator TG 30 has eight sound source channels. The TG 30 generates rhythm sound kind specifying information specifying kinds of rhythm sound being more than 8, for example, 16 kinds of rhythm sound by read-out of rhythm patterns and/or the operation of a rhythm playing operation piece. In is discriminated for each rhythm sound kind specifying information which sound source channel kinds of rhythm sound relating to its specifying are already allotted to, when allotting is finished, rhythm sound kind specifying information is allotted to a sound source channel relating to allotting, when allotting is not performed, allotting is performed in accordance with a judged result of a judging means. When the judged result of the judging means indicates that a sound source channel in an empty state exists, rhythm sound kind specifying information is allotted to a sound source channel in an empty state and sound is uttered, when the result indicates that it does not exist, the information is allotted to a sound source channel in which the attenuation of a rhythm sound signal is most advanced and sound is uttered. |
