PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for a polymer solid electrolyte type fuel cell having carbon monoxide catalyst poisoning resistance equivalent to that of a catalyst for a binary system high molecular solid electrolyte type fuel cell with platinum/ruthenium which has excellent carbon monoxide catalyst poisoning resistance, and a low manufacturing cost, and to provide a polymer solid electrolyte type fuel cell. SOLUTION: In a catalyst for a polymer solid electrolyte type fuel cell wherein two kinds of metals, platinum and a metal, are supported on carbon powder carrier, platinum and tungsten are supported at the ratio of (9-4):(1-4) (mole ratio). When the ratio of platinum and tungsten is (9-7):(1-3) (mole ratio), the catalyst for a high molecular solid electrolyte type fuel cell especially becomes economy. When both precious metals are supported in such a condition that they are closer to form an alloy, the carbon monoxide catalyst poisoning resistance of the catalyst is improved more. |
