PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for cathode-ray tube having a plurality of focusing electrodes of such a structure that a voltage attenuating resistance is furnished with parallel spark gaps for protecting the resistance. SOLUTION: A socket for cathode-ray tube includes a first focus contact 11 to be in contact with a first pin and a second focus contact 12 to be in contact with a second pin, and a voltage attenuating resistance 2 is connected between the first 11 and second contacts 12, and a spark gap electrode plate 3 is provided in contact with the second contact 12 for generating a spark gap with respect to the ground, and a dynamic focusing voltage input terminal is directly connected with the second contact 12. The voltage attenuating resistance 2 is furnished with parallel spark gaps (S3).
