PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dry metallized film capacitor, the capacitance of which does not decrease much, even when the capacitor is used for a long time due to metallized films in which protective films are respectively formed on thin metallic films composed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: In a dry metallized film capacitor, constituted by winding a pair of metallized film 5 in which thin metallic films 2 composed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy are respectively formed on the surfaces of dielectric films 1 in a state where one film 5 is laid on the other film 5, films 3 composed of silicon, silicon oxide, or their mixture are respectively formed on the thin metallic films 2 as protective films 3.
