摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve photoelectric conversion efficiency by laminating a p-type CuO region and an n-type TiO2 region each other as a p-n junction. SOLUTION: This photoelectric conversion element is provided with a p-n junction for generating a carrier in response to incidence light, and the p-n junction is provided with a p-type CuO region 1p and an n-type TiO2 region 1n, that are adjacent each other. The p-n junction is composed by a semiconductor material with opaqueness at an ultraviolet-ray region and has sufficient photoelectric conversion efficiency. Also, since the n-type TiO2 region 1n and the p-type CuO region 1p are successively laminated on a transparent substrate 1t so as to be adjacent in the thickness direction, they can be easily formed on the transparent substrate 1t. At the same time, when light enters the p-n junction via the transparent substrate 1t, the area of a junction surface can be enhanced, thus improving the photoelectric conversion efficiency. Also, the p-type TiO2 region 1p and the n-type CuO region 1n can be formed by the CVD method or the like.</p>
