Watch has housing with an additional recess within it in which an extra chip can be inserted. The chip comprises a transponder with an antenna allowing a wireless connection to be made to the watch. The chip makes electrical contact with a number of contacts within the watch for power supply etc. The wearer operates the transponder by use of a switch. The chip can be removed from the watch if required.
