Compound electrical and optical overhead transmission system

The invented compound electrical and optical overhead transmission system comprises an overhead electrical phase conductors (2) and at least one optical cable (1). Further it comprises towers (10), between which there are extended and suspended the phase conductors (2ˆ) and at least one optical cable (1) and a resistance element (12) extending alongside the optical cable (1) and being removably suspended and grounded next to at least one tower (10). For protecting the whole optical cable (1) from arc of a dry zone, the resistance element (12) is extended over each tower (10) along only a portion of the optical cable (1) to a distance of at least 20 meters.
