PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously improve a vibration resistance and operational rigid feeling of a shift lever disposed on a transmission case on the opposite side of an engine. SOLUTION: This shift lever 1 is supported on a transmission case 3 through a holding body 2 on the opposite side of an engine. The holding body 2 comprises a control part 7 pivotally supporting a pivot part 5 of the shift lever 1, a main beam 9 locked to the upper end of the transmission case 3 by direct locking means 31, and a slanted beam 11 locked to the lower end of the transmission case 3 by elastic locking means 32. The direct locking means 31 is a hinge for rigidly connecting the holding body 2 to the transmission case 3, and gives a rigid feeling to the operation of the shift lever 1. The elastic locking means 32 is a hinge for connecting the holding body 2 to the transmission case 3 through a cushioning member 16, and the holding body 2 is allowed to be rotated about the axis of the direct locking means 32 by vibration from the engine and the vibration is absorbed by the cushioning member 16.
