PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a dyed fabric having sufficient dimensional stability without damaging the excellent feeling of a protein fiber by subjecting a fabric comprising the protein fiber and an elastic fiber to a heat-set treatment under a specific condition before wet decatizing or milling when dyeing the fabric. SOLUTION: A fabric comprising a protein fiber such as wool and an elastic fiber such as a urethane-based fiber is subjected to a heat-set treatment at <=180 deg.C, preferably 150-180 deg.C, more preferably 150-160 deg.C for <=90 s, preferably 30-90 s, and the treated fabric is subjected to wet decatizing or milling treatment. The resultant fabric is dyed to a prescribed color by a jet dyeing machine or the like, and the dyed fabric is subjected to a finishing set and decatizing treatment to provide the objective dyed fabric.
