PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and straight cut a recording medium. SOLUTION: A pricking blade surface 48b of a cutter blade 48 is firstly pricked into a recording medium 32, and continuously this pricking blade surface 48b is made to intrude into the recording medium 32 slightly deeper at the time of cutting the recording medium 32. As the pricking blade surface 48b is pricked in the neighbourhood of an end surface 32a of the recording medium 32, the neighbourhood of the end surface 32a of the recording medium 32 is cut off by a second blade surface, the second blade surface reaches this end surface 32a, and a part from a position where the pricking blade surface 48b is pricked to the end surface 32a of the recording medium 32 is completely cut off. Continuously, the recording medium is completely cut off by travelling the cutter blade 48 in a direction to be separated from the end surface 32a.
