PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition useful for treating skin wound, inflammation, lesion, abrasion, etc., by making the composition include a carrier base, a zinc compound and an amino acid in the contents of the amino acid and zinc in specific ranges and processing the composition into a (semi)solid. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a carrier base (e.g. cream, balsam, gel, ointment, emollient, lotion, etc.), (B) at least one kind of a zinc compound [e.g. zinc oxide, zinc (amino acid)2, etc.], and (C) at least one kind of an amino acid (preferably a monocarboxylamino acid capable of forming a complex with at least one kind of a zinc compound, such as glycine, L-lysine, D-lysine, etc.). The amount of the component C in the composition is about 2-20 mol equivalents based on zinc. The composition contains about 1-20 mg zinc per gram of the composition. The composition is in a solid or a semisolid for local skin use so as to release zinc to the skin from the used composition.
