PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment system in which a used refractory material containing hexavalent chromium and an alkali metal component can be detoxified, and to make the used refractory material reusable or disposable. SOLUTION: This system is equipped with a reductive heat treatment furnace 5 to remove hexavalent chromium included in a used refractory material, an elution separation tank 9 to remove the alkali metal component included in the used refractory material and to separate the elution liquid containing the alkali metal component from the residual refractory material in the liquid, a reaction tank 16 to neutralize the elution liquid discharged from the elution separation tank 9 and to flocculate and precipitate fine particles remaining in the elution liquid, and a precipitation separation tank 20 to separate the solid content from the liquid content both discharged from the reaction tank.
