PURPOSE: A preparation method of bulk bull gear having a welding structure of steel forgings is provided to obtain high quality gear with suitable hardness by thermal induction hardening process. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing bulk bull gear is performed by thermal induction hardening process after pre-heating, post-heating and heat treatment procedures. The bull gear is manufactured by forming jig on surface plate to place boss (2), upper reinforcing plate (4) and ring gear (1) inside, adding a heating coil and performing various works such as welding, non-destructive inspection, post-heating treatment, NDI for welding part, turning works and so on. Additionally, the bull gear has good hardness at its gear tooth part by thermal induction hardening process.
