PURPOSE: Provided are an interlocking block which can retain a smooth surface and have numerous colors and beautiful appearance, and a method for manufacturing the same. CONSTITUTION: The interlocking block comprises a lower layer part consisting of mixture of portland cement and gravel and sand(1:3:3 by weight); and an outer layer part consisting of mixture of portland cement and natural granite particle and white cottonwood coat powder(1:3:3 by weight). The outer layer is abraded many times using abrasive stones to have a smooth surface. The interlocking block is manufactured by the steps of (i) blending portland and cement and gravel in weight ratio of 1:3:3, and introducing the blend and water in weight of about 1/3 times as much as that of the blend into the first mixer with stirring, so as to prepare the material of lower layer; (ii) blending portland cement and natural granite particle and white cottonwood coat powder(1:3:3 by weight) and introducing the blend and water in weight of about 1/3 times as much as that of the blend into the second mixer, and mixing the introduced materials with stirring, so as to prepare material for out layer; (iii) sequentially pouring the lower layer and outer layer into the mold; (iv) compressing the materials for lower and outer layers to form material parts of lower and outer layers respectively; (v) removing the mold; (vi) curing the materials of lower layer and outer layer for predetermined times; and (vii) abrading surface of the material part of outer layer with abrasive stone having various particle size and washing the material many times, so as to enable the material to have a smooth surface.
