PURPOSE: A digital TV receiving system for selective decoding and multi-screen and the method is provided to reduce an amount of calculation according to a size and a shape of a screen and decode selectively the image by decoding information on a plurality of digital and analog broadcastings and a DVD and outputting a multi-screen. CONSTITUTION: The digital TV receiving system for selective decoding and multi-display and the method includes a channel receiving terminal(31). A de-packet unit(32) receives information on a digital broadcasting, a cable TV and a DVD from a PCI bus(1) etc. and divides the information into three data(audio/video/user) for decoding. A process determining unit(33) determines whether the data is transmitted or not in order to process the data(audio/video/user) according to a control signal. First and second A/D converting units(ADC, 34,35) converts the analog video signal and audio signal from the channel receiving terminal(31) into digital signals. An analog video decoder(AVD, 36) decodes the video signal output from the first A/D converting unit(34). An AC-3 decoder(37) decodes the audio signal from the second A/D converting unit(35) and then outputs the decoded signal. |
