The modular assembly consists of a base component (1) with a body which has an inner passage and a threaded fixing for attaching it to the gas cylinder, and a separate control or pressure regulating valve module (2). The two modules are joined by a coupling (5) which can form part of the base component or additional module, and the additional module (2) is actuated by a handwheel or a lever (7) with a spring (23) inside a cavity in the base component.
