摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reasonably accommodate an air bag in an air bag accommodating plate of an automobile and to release a sufficient quantity of gas by accommo dating compressed gas for expansion of the air bag in a high pressure vessel formed in the shape of an annulus ring. SOLUTION: When the collision is detected, a starting current flows in a releasing valve 3, so that the valve 3 is opened. Then, the compressed gas in an annular high pressure vessel 1 blows out from a gas outlet 4 and flows into an air bag 7. When an aspirator is used, the compressed gas within the vessel 1 and the outside air are mixed with each other to flow into the air bag 7. When no aspirator is used, only the compressed gas in the annular high pressure vessel 1 flows into the air bag 7. In this case, since the gas outlet 4 is situated at almost the middle of the air bag 7, the gas is poured toward the central part of the air bag 7, so that the bag 7 makes smooth expanding operation. Since the high pressure vessel 1 is of an annular shape, when the air bag is to be accommodated in a range having the same effective accommodation diameter (S), the pipe diameter (P) can be made smaller than the conventional one.
