The collection container has a rectangular tray (10) provided with a base (12), 2 sidewalls (14), a rear wall (16) and an opposing operating device, transverse to the feed direction (A) of the savings books by a transport device (20), for folding each saving book. At least one of the sidewalls has a guide surface (22) angled inwards towards the base at its top edge, the base provided with an inclined ramp (24) having a bottom edge (34) spaced from the base by the thickness of the folded savings book.
