Twin-shaft extruder has two parallel bores (16, 17) in which rotating shafts (22, 23) which carry processing components are arranged. A throttle device (41) passes between the shafts at right angles to them and can rotate about a vertical axis (37) to alter the cross-section of the throttle space (45) between them.
