The invention relates to a fuel cell system (10), comprising a fuel cell (20) and an assembly (30) for heating/cooling said fuel cell (20). The assembly (30) enables the fuel cell (20) and the streams of gas which are fed to the fuel cell (20) to be preheated and to be rapidly brought up to the ideal operating temperature, in particular, during a rapid start-up of the fuel cell system (10). A flow line (31) for a heating/cooling medium is provided for this purpose which is connected or can be connected to the fuel cell (20) in such a way that a thermal exchange occurs or can occur between the fuel cell (20) and the heating/cooling medium. At least one heat sink (35; 36) is also provided in the flow line (31) which is/can be connected to a supply line for the fuel (21) and/or a supply line for the oxidation agent (23) for the fuel cell (20) in such a way that a thermal exchange occurs/can occur between the heat sink(s) (35; 36) and the fuel and/or the oxidation agent for the fuel cell (20). The inventive assembly (30) also enables the waste heat which is generated in the fuel cell (20) to be used to heat the fuel and/or the oxidation agent. A heating device (42), configured as a burner, is also provided for the additional heating of the heating/cooling medium, for example during a cold-start of the fuel cell system (10). |
