A pivot bushing for a vehicle suspension system has an inner metal member 60, an outer metal member 64, and an elastomeric bushing 62 between the metal members. The outer metal member 64 has one end partially closed by an inwardly curved portion 82, and one end which is open. The bushing is assembled through the open end. Once assembled the open end is closed by placing a cover 78 over the end and crimping the cover to a flange formed at the open end. In an alternative embodiment the cover is inserted into the outer metal member and the member is crimped to secure the cover in place. |
