460,012. Light-sensitive cells. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES. Aug. 7, 1936, No. 21838. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1935. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] A photo-electric cell of the barrier layer type or of the type having electrically separate anode and cathode, has a light-sensitive layer formed by vaporizing caesium or rubidium onto antimony or bismuth and then causing the two metals to alloy, as by heat treatment. The layer of antimony or bismuth is formed by vaporizing the metal onto a base and is preferably treated with oxygen or its homologues prior to the deposition of the caesium or rubidium. |
