PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dwarf autumn bellflower, induce floral buds and retain the flowering state for a long time by using MS medium that is widely known as a medium for plant tissue culture and adjusting the concentration of nitrogen components in no use of a growth retardant. SOLUTION: In a tightly sealed transparent vessel, a non-symbiotic shoot of autumn bellflower is placed on the Murashige-Scoog culture medium including <=60% of ammonium nitrate, 90-20% of potassium nitrate, in addition, 3.5-7% of sucrose and being adjusted in its pH to 4.2-4.8. Further, a hole is bored on a part of the tightly sealed transparent vessel and the hole is covered with a filter that is made air-permeable but germ-impermeable.
