PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute the overall washing machine into a thinner type even when a reduction mechanism and a driving motor are arranged on the same axis, and reduce the volume of the lower side of the washing machine body by constituting the reduction mechanism in a manner to be enclosed by the driving motor. SOLUTION: At the time of a washing-rinsing process, a solenoid 32c is excited, and a movable clutch section 32b is moved upward along a dehydrating shaft 27. Then, the engagement between a fixed clutch section 32a and the movable clutch section 32b is disengaged. Thus, the rotating force of a driving motor 31 is transmitted to a washing shaft 29 through a reduction mechanism 30 which is provided coaxially with a driving motor in a manner to be enclosed by the driving motor 31 on the top of the driving motor 31, and a pulsator 25 alone is rotated to perform a washing. Then, in a dehydrating process, water in a spinning tub 24 is drained, and at the same time, the turning on of the solenoid 32c is stopped. By this motion, the movable clutch section 32b is lowered by its self-weight, and the fixed clutch section 32a and the movable clutch section 32b are engaged with each other. Then, the pulsator 25 and the spinning tub 24 are integrally rotated to perform a dehydration. |
