PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffuser for a centrifugal fluid machine excellent in efficiency and a head characteristic in a wide flow range. SOLUTION: In a circular diffuser 20 for a centrifugal fluid machine, the negative pressure face shape 22a of a diffuser blade 22 is formed to have a protrusive discontinuous part 22d upstream of a blade inlet throat part 23 formed by a blade negative pressure face and an adjacent blade pressure face 22c. An inlet semi-open part can thereby be formed in suitable shape for stall suppression in a low flow area, and a blade lap part can be formed in suitable shape for pressure recovery near a design point, so that an excellent characteristic can be obtained in a wide flow range.
