PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a carry and directivity by designing a golf club head in such a manner that the angle formed by the arbitrary one axis of the inertia main axes intersecting orthogonally with each other of an ellipsoid of inertia of the golf club head and the normal vector of the clubface passing the centroid of the golf club head is made small. SOLUTION: The golf club head 1 is the ellipsoid of inertia and the clubface thereof is so formed that the angleθformed by either one of the axis I2 and axis I3 and the normal vector of the clubface is <=20 deg. when the three main axes of the ellipsoid of inertia intersecting orthogonally with each other at the origin (centroid G) of the ellipsoid of inertia are defined as the axis I1, axis I2 and axis I3 in order of the larger inertia moment of these main axes. A weight material having the specific gravity larger than the specific gravity of the material constituting a main body is arranged slightly nearer a head of a toe side part and a back part in order to confine the angle formed by the axis I3 and the normal vector of the clubface of <=20 deg., by which the axis I3 is corrected. The angle formed by the axis I2 and the normal vector of the clubface is confined to <=20 deg. with an ordinary head.
