PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a label inspection by a simple processing program at a high precision. SOLUTION: A container on which a label 2 is affixed is photographed by a photographing means, and diagonal corner sections of the label 2 are detected by the photographed image of the label 2. Then, distances in the X direction and the Y direction between the corner sections are obtained, and the obtained distances in the X direction and the Y direction are compared with regular values. When the difference between the obtained distances in the X direction and the Y direction and the regular values is larger than a specified value, the labeling is judged to be erroneous. Since the distances between diagonal corner sections are obtained and compared with regular values, the processing program is simple.
