HERMETIC ROTARY COMPRESSOR

PURPOSE: A hermetic rotary compressor is provided to reduce compression noise generated during discharge of refrigerant and achieve improved energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic rotary compressor comprises a main body(10) having an outlet pipe and an inlet pipe(16); a motor installed inside the main body; a cylinder disposed beneath the motor, and which compresses the refrigerant sucked through the inlet pipe; upper and lower flanges(50,52) fixed to respective end portions of the cylinder; a discharge hole(50b) formed at the upper flange so as to discharge the refrigerant; a resonator(50e) communicated to the inner periphery of the discharge hole so as to reduce the compression noise during discharge of refrigerant; and a resonator open/close member installed to the upper flange so as to automatically open/close the resonator. The resonator open/close member includes a sheet plate(54) for opening/closing the resonator, and an elastic member(56) for returning the sheet plate to the initial position.
