The seal consists of a foam strip (12) sealing the gap between the frame (10) and soffit (11). The strip is in the form of a compressed fireproof layer (13) placed against the frame-side outer surface (12) of the foam strip. which is inserted or placed by means of an implement (17) which ,with a compression arm (18), compresses the strip and , with an insertion arm (19) at right angles to the compression arm, fits the strip into the gap (16).
