For the purpose of producing a web splice an adhesive tape is used which has an adhesive layer (3) essentially only on one side. The cover film of this adhesive layer consists of two parts (4 and 5) which are separated by a longitudinal seam (9). Applied on the other side of the substrate (band 2) of the adhesive layer (3) is at least one narrow adhesive strip (7), also having a cover film (8), which is preferably situated at one edge of the adhesive tape (1). ……
