The floor mop has a flexible cleaning head (4), at least the surface (2) of which is made of plush material containing more than 50% of cellulose fibres. A flexible, air-permeable porous textile accessory (6) is fitted over the cleaning head. This is made of material which shrinks against the cleaning head when wet. It fits between edge fasteners (8) and in the region (10) under these it is not in contact with the cleaning head.
