The invention relates to an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine (1) in a motor vehicle which can be used, in particular, for diesel or lean-mixture engines. Said exhaust system comprises at least a first catalyser (2), located in an exhaust-gas line (5) and an NOx accumulator (7). At least one heat exchanger (3; 8) is located in the exhaust-gas line (5) in front of the accumulator (7). Said heat exchanger is configured as a counter-current heat exchanger (3; 8) for an exhaust-gas fluid which exchanges heat in a counter-current with a cooling fluid, in such a way that the stream of heat (W1, W2) is evacuated, without the maximum temperature of the NOx accumulator (7) being exceeded. The invention maintains a predetermined temperature range in a simple and effective manner for temperature-sensitive components in an exhaust system such as that of an NOx accumulator (7), whilst at the same time guaranteeing the quality of the exhaust-gas purification under various operating conditions. |
