<p>A magnetic field of strong anisotropy is assured by using Cr-free magnetic material for a magnetic layer where magnetic data is recorded. A magnetic recording medium (1) having such a magnetic layer is produced by depositing an underlayer (3) consisting of a Cr-base non-magnetic material on a substrate (2), and a magnetic layer (4) consisting of an alloy of Co and at least a non-magnetic material other than Cr on this underlayer.</p> |
