PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can quicken the response of the open/close operation of a conical wedge, operate surely and carry out the emergency stop when a missing phenomenon is generated. SOLUTION: A chuck release device 36, consisting of a cylinder body 38 and advancable/retreatable release rod 41, is provided on the small diameter end 56 of the conical wedge 11 of a chuck device 31 and/or a chuck push in device 37, consisting of a cylinder body 47 and advacanble/retreatable push in rod 50, is provided on the big diameter end 57 of the conical wedge 11. The receiving surface 45 of a pressurized air to the direction separating from the small diameter end 56 of the conical wedge 11 and the receiving surface 46 of a pressurized oil to the direction pushing in the small diameter end 56 of the conical wedge 11 are formed on this release rod 41. The receiving surface 54 of the pressurized air to the direction pushing in the big diameter end 57 of the conical wedge 11 and the receiving surface 55 of the pressurized oil to the direction separating from the big diameter end 57 of the conical wedge 11 are formed on this push in rod 50.
