PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a protruding relief on the glass surface without deteriorating a beautiful sight. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step of softening at least a part of a glass member and thereby keeping the part in a workable state, a step of bonding a relief-forming member to the glass surface of the part changed into the glass workable state, a step of pulling the relief-forming member and thereby forming a protruding relief having the shape corresponding to the relief-forming member on the glass surface and a step of peeling the relief-forming member bonded to the protruding relief from the relief after the formation of the protruding relief.
