PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally enhance a function relating to a view limit if many people of a family or in a meeting place use one and the same video recording and reproducing device such as a DVD player. SOLUTION: A control means 12 is provided with a current date and time output section 18 that outputs a current date and time, a birthday storage section 16 that stores a birthday of each viewer entered by an operation means 10, a viewer age calculation section 20 that calculates an age of each viewer on the basis of the birthday stored in the birthday storage section 16 and a current date and time outputted from the current date and time output section 16, and a view limit control section 22 that decides propriety of reproduction of a reproduction means 24 on the basis of view limit information stored in advance in a video recording medium 26 and the age calculated by the viewer age calculation section 20. |
