PURPOSE: A vending machine driving method is provided to ensure the operation of a vending machine suitably by correctly settling a cup in a cup holder member in a cup dispenser and correctly transporting the cup holder member to a material dispensing position. CONSTITUTION: A cup holder member is moved to the initial position(S2). Detection is made if the cup holder member is positioned at the initial position(S3). A selling operation of a vending machine is stopped if the cup holder member is not positioned at the initial position. The vending machine is converted to a product sale standby position if the cup holder member is positioned at the initial position(S4). Materials and old or hot water are separately dispensed into the cup by the operation of a user for sale of the product(S9).
