PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for preparing a tagged document including a tagging rule describing system which can be applied to even a document having document structure complicated to some degree without requiring special knowledge and technique. SOLUTION: A conversion corresponding table obtained by defining the delimiter character string of an original document in the direction of a row and arranging a corresponding tag at the position of a column corresponding to the depth of a hierarchy fixed by document structure is fixed first. A tagged document converter is formed of a character string detecting part detecting a delimiter character string of the conversion corresponding table from an original document and a tag adding part properly inserting a tag to the original document by considering the hierarchy of the tag from a tag corresponding to the delimiter and a column position on the conversion corresponding table of the tag. |
