<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which photographs a moving image on the plane of a desk, paper, etc., can be made to smoothly moved on the plane, can reduce maintenance burden such as cleaning and is ideal as a pointing device. SOLUTION: In this image pickup device, an object in an opening part 12 on an object side where outdoor daylight is shielded by a holder 10, etc., is illuminated by a lighting means. Light emitted from a light emitting element 41 is focused by a convex lens 43 to be made parallel light, reflected from the reflection surface 44b of a prism 44 and focused on the image pickup area of the object by a concave lens 45.
