PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve addresses well even when out-of-town telephone exchange numbers are unclear and simplify an input operation for telephone numbers. SOLUTION: When a user selects from a menu 'to search for a destination from telephone numbers', an input screen for a local telephone exchange number as shown in (A) is displayed. The user inputs a telephone number of a desired address from the local telephone exchange number. When the user finishes inputting all places, a telephone number conforming to the inputted local telephone exchange number and a registered number is retrieved. When the conforming telephone number is present and a plurality of conforming telephone numbers are present, the telephone numbers and corresponding facility names are displayed as indicated by (B). When the user selects the desired destination with reference to the displayed list, detailed information on the facility is displayed as shown in (C). Then, an operation process for searching for a route is carried out on the basis of the selected destination and the present position of the vehicle, and moreover, a guide process according to the searched route is carried out. |
