PURPOSE: A control method of an air conditioner is provided to prevent an indoor space from overcooling by circulating an additional fluid in a dehumidification mode of an air conditioner and to control circulating of the fluid effectively. CONSTITUTION: A compressor is driven if a dehumidification mode is selected. A microcomputer stops the compressor after raising temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger by inhibiting its radiation. If indoor temperature is lower than set temperature, the microcomputer opens a valve and drives a pump to perform an overcooling prevention mode. After that, the pump is turned off and the valve is closed to finish the overcooling prevention mode. If the dehumidification mode is not selected, the microcomputer performs a cooling/heating mode for driving the compressor, the outdoor and an indoor fan. The microcomputer detects indoor temperature through a temperature sensor and decides whether the current indoor temperature falls lower than the pre-input set temperature. If so, the microcomputer stops the mode by turning off the compressor and the two fans. Therefore, indoor temperature is kept regular and an indoor space is prevented from overcooling.
