PURPOSE: An image monitoring apparatus is provided to be capable of transmitting image signals of a video camera in upstream in a digital cable TV system. CONSTITUTION: An image monitoring apparatus includes monitoring cameras installed at a predetermined specific region, for receiving image information in the specific region. Control boxes connected to the monitoring cameras controls various functions and directions of the monitoring cameras. A remote terminal for a control box(44) connected to the control boxes transmits various control signals to control the monitoring cameras using the control boxes. Subscriber boxes(34,36) receive various control command keys from a subscriber of the cable TV system to output control signals depending on the control command keys. A remote terminal for a subscriber command key is connected to the subscriber boxes and transmits the control signals to a central terminal(20). The central terminal(20) forms a path only when the subscriber is a registered subscriber by confirming that the subscriber is the registered subscriber so that the subscriber can be connected to the monitoring cameras if the control signal is received, and transmits the control signal from the subscriber for adjusting the monitoring cameras to the remote terminal for the control boxes.
