The ink mechanism has at least one ink transfer roller (1) subjected to an air flow and a forced delivery arrangement (2) for feeding an air flow along the surface of the roller on part of its circumference. The delivery arrangement feeds the air flow in the peripheral direction of the roller and has a hood covering part of the roller circumference to bound a channel for the air flow between itself and the roller.
