PURPOSE: A cooling method and system using microwave is provided to reduce electric power consumption and achieve improved cooling efficiency by allowing a magnetron to generate wet steam needed for evaporation. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of supplying a refrigerant to a heating area; oscillating a magnetron by sensing the refrigerant supplied to the heating area, and heating the refrigerant by the generated microwave to allow the refrigerant to become wet steam state; allowing the wet steam refrigerant generated from the heating area to pass through an evaporator and cooling an object by a latent heat of vaporization caused by a throttling action; recovering to the compressor the refrigerant which is vaporized as passing through the evaporator, and liquefying the refrigerant by pressure while generating pressure difference for evaporator; and supplying again the liquefied refrigerant to the heating area.
