PURPOSE: A variable carbon dioxide phase change nozzle and a surface cleaning apparatus by using the nozzle are provided to control the size and distribution of ice snow particles with a variable nozzle and improve cleaning efficiency by mounting a heat blower for removing dry ice films generated on a surface. CONSTITUTION: In a surface cleaning apparatus by using a variable carbon dioxide phase change nozzle, a second nozzle(20) is variable in an inner volume(60) between inlet and outlet tubes(40,70) in which dry ice snow particles are formed, so that the size of the particles is controllable, and connected to a carbon dioxide container and a high pressure hose(30). A resistance wire(100) is mounted around the second nozzle for generating heat to be provided by a fan(110) on a surface(80) to be cleaned. An insulation(140) is mounted in a circular shape between the second nozzle and the resistance wire for preventing heat transfer to the nozzles.
